11 Things To Do With Your Kids in Owasso This Spring Break

(YOwasso contributing writer Jenna Hall brings us this helpful list of things parents can do with their kids in Owasso this spring break)

Spring Break is in full swing here in Owasso!

Time to get out, enjoy the weather and make some memories with your kids.

If you’ve ever spent spring break in town with your kids, you know that your list of ‘fun things for the kids to do without breaking the bank’ could start running short mid-week.

Here is a list of some fun things to do in Owasso that are either FREE or low cost for you and your kiddos so your Spring Break in Owasso stays entertaining!

PARKS, PARK, PARKS!

Owasso is no stranger to parks, thank goodness. You can take a nature walk on one of the many trails that Centennial Park has to offer or see which park holds the fastest slide! Funtastic Island, the YMCA, and Elm Creek all have cool play zones and swings for your kids!

duck

Quack, Quack

One thing that i think anyone of ANY age would enjoy, is a trip to Elm Creek to feed the ducks. Bring a loaf of bread and I assure you that you will make MANY feathered friends!

Become an Artist

If you are feeling a bit artistic, the Copper Kiln has your name all over it. Here, kids (and adults, too) can paint in Owasso’s very first ceramic studio. Nothing like putting your Spring Break 2016 memories on something you can display at home.

golf

FORE!

If your kid is into sports, Bailey Ranch Golf Course is a fun place to spend the afternoon. With kids 17 & under costing only $11 to play 18 holes, this is a sport sure to teach patience while mixing in a lot of fun.

If you are unsure that your kiddo will enjoy golf, take him/her out to hit a bucket of balls for only a couple of bucks! Who knows, golf may be their game!

FORE! (Frisbee Style)

If you like the idea of golf, but maybe in a different fashion – head on over to Centennial Park where they have a frisbee golf course.

Get some good walking and some good memories in with a round!

Here Fishy, Fishy!

As you can tell, Elm Creek houses a lot of entertainment ideas, one of which being fishing. In a world consumed by instant gratification, grab your fishing poles and enjoy a true sport with your kids.

tennis

Love

Love may mean zero in tennis, but not when you’re playing tennis with your kids!

The high school courts usually keep their gates open (located by the 8th grade center) & Elm Creek (see, I told you it housed a lot of entertainment) has two tennis courts, as well.

I’m terrible at tennis, but I’ve played many pickup games on both of those courts and have always had a blast!

Get some Air!

If your kids are little more on the daring side, take them to Owasso’s skate park. Located by the recycle center, you’ll find kids/adults of all ages boarding and blading.

Be Proud!

The Owasso Historical Museum and Society is nothing short of interesting and entertaining.

From past Mr. and Mrs. Trail Days being posted on the walls to old yearbooks, this is a neat spot to teach your kids (and yourself) all about the town they live in and to take a walk down memory lane.

There’s some neat history in that building and I think everyone ought to visit it in their lifetime.

bowl

BOWLING

The Lanes at Coffee Creek is Owasso’s first and only bowling alley. With glow bowling, an arcade, snacks and more – this is a sure bet you’ll have a good time!

Make it a Matinee

AMC Owasso 12 has a great ticket price at $4.47 for kids in school – All the way up to seniors in high school. Load up on the buttered popcorn, grab a seat, and enjoy a movie!
